Although grapes have been grown in Texas since the 1660s, modern winemaking did not make a comeback in Texas until the 1970s. Since that time, the industry has seen significant growth, and Texas’ 200+ wineries produce enough wine to make Texas the fifth largest wine producing state. Yet, approximately 95% of Texas wine is consumed locally. Texas wineries are concentrated in the eastern regions of the state with dozens of wineries located near both the Dallas and Houston metropolitan areas. Scroll down for a comprehensive list of Texas wineries and click “map view” to access the advanced winery search. Whether you would like to visit a winery that provides beautiful vineyard lodging, has food available to complement its wines, hosts vineyard weddings, or produces wines from organic grapes, we make it easy to find the best wine tour and tasting destinations in Texas wine country.
